Privacy Policy for Tibbl

Last updated: 23 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tibbl ("the app," "we," "us") handles information when you use the app. Tibbl is a personal reminder app for Android, published by Elvra, a sole proprietorship based in India. The data controller's registered legal name and address are published on Tibbl's Google Play listing under "About the developer," and can also be obtained by writing to the contact address at the end of this policy. We built the app to work with as little data collection as possible — most of what you enter never leaves your device.

Summary

  • Your reminders (titles, notes, times, repeat rules, and alarm/snooze settings) are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to us.
  • We collect a small number of pseudonymous usage events to understand how the app is used — never tied to your name, email, or reminder content.
  • We use Google Play Billing for the one-time unlock purchase; we never see or store your payment details.
  • We do not sell your data, run ads, or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Information We Collect

1. Reminder data (stays on your device)

Everything you create in Tibbl — reminder titles, notes, due dates and times, repeat/recurrence rules, alarm and snooze settings, and completion status — is stored locally on your device in a local database. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party. If you use the app's Export feature, a JSON backup file is created and saved wherever you choose (for example, your device storage or a cloud drive you pick) — that transfer is entirely under your control and is not something we receive.

2. Usage analytics

To understand how people use Tibbl and improve it, the app sends a small number of events to our analytics provider, PostHog. The events we send are limited to:

  • App activation (first meaningful use)
  • Completing a reminder — a generic "core action" signal that does not include the reminder's content (this includes reminders completed from an alarm or snoozed and later completed)
  • Viewing the upgrade screen, and which part of the app triggered it
  • Completing or restoring a purchase, including the price tier

No reminder text, notes, alarm times, or contact details are ever included in these events.

What identifies these events. The first time you open the app, a random identifier is generated and stored on your device. It is not your name, email, Android advertising ID, or hardware identifier, and it cannot be used to contact you or to recognise you in any other app. It is, however, persistent — events from the same installation share the same identifier — so we describe this data as pseudonymous rather than anonymous. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app generates a new identifier.

Country, on new purchases only. When you complete a purchase, that event includes your country, read from your Google Play account's billing region (not from your IP address or GPS). This tells us which regional price tier was used. Restoring a previous purchase, and every other event, includes no location information at all.

Where this data is processed. Analytics events are processed by PostHog on infrastructure located in the United States. PostHog acts as our data processor and does not use this data for its own purposes. See PostHog's privacy policy for details.

3. Purchase information

Tibbl offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock additional features, processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your payment card details — that information is handled directly by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was made and its price tier, used for the analytics purposes described above and to restore your purchase if you reinstall the app.

4. Device permissions

Tibbl requests the following Android permissions, used solely to make reminders and alarms reliable:

  • Notifications — to show you reminder alerts.
  • Exact alarms — so reminders fire at the precise time you set, rather than being delayed by the system.
  • Full-screen alarm display — so a reminder set as an alarm can ring and show a full-screen alert even when your device is locked, similar to a standard alarm clock.
  • Vibrate — to vibrate your device when a reminder or alarm goes off.
  • Ignore battery optimizations — so the operating system doesn't silently stop scheduled reminders in the background.

None of these permissions are used to collect or transmit data about you.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or any content from other apps. We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The only third parties involved in Tibbl's operation are:

  • PostHog — usage analytics (see above).
  • Google — purchase processing through Google Play Billing (see above).

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, though given the limited nature of what we hold, we generally have nothing further to disclose.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your reminder data lives on your device for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling Tibbl permanently deletes it from your device. Usage analytics events are retained by our analytics provider for [RETENTION PERIOD — CHECK POSTHOG PROJECT SETTINGS] and then deleted.

If you would like the analytics events associated with your installation deleted before then, contact us at the address below and describe roughly when you installed and used the app; we will work with our analytics provider to locate and remove the associated events.

Children's Privacy

Tibbl is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone below the age at which they can consent independently in their country — 18 in India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, and 13 in some other jurisdictions. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

Because reminder data never leaves your device, you have full control over it at all times — you can export, edit, or delete it directly within the app, or remove all of it by uninstalling.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of personal data we hold about you. In practice the only data we hold is the limited pseudonymous analytics described above; you can request deletion of past events using the contact details below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
